I've been stressed out lately because a lot of my friends and family have been having a rough time, and I've been letting it affect me too much. So today, I tried to de-compress. I listened to Siouxsie and the Banshees (Tinderbox, for those of you who care) in the car on the way to yoga, and then I had the best damn yoga workout ever. I got to the point where I was so exhausted and focused that I couldn't feel upset. It was during that focused exhaustion that I had a moment of clarity and told myself that I will not be affected by things I can't control.

During final relaxation, I was completely meditative and repeated that point in my head. It was intense. My whole body was tingling. I have never felt so focused and introspective during my practice. When relaxation finished, I felt mellow and calm. I sang along to Mates of State the whole way home.

I now feel like I can overpower these negative feelings, and that is very important to me.
