Today was the best day I've had in a really long time, mostly because I have so many awesome friends. In the morning, I met Joe's friend Mike (from SAE*) when he came over to help us move in our new sofa and loveseat. I really enjoyed hanging out with him and I was so happy I got to meet him. He was exactly my kind of people: chill, funny, and observant with some sass. It's so rare that I just click with people but over a move and some lunch (at Open Sesame... I LOVE THAT PLACE) I definitely felt like I had made a new friend.

After we re-arranged the living room (which looks AMAZING now--it's like a whole new apartment), we went out on the deck and had margaritas with the neighbors. I hung out there for hours, mostly talking to Brian, Chirg, Bill, & Bill's new-ish roommate whos name I always forget (Andy?). Being out on the deck in my favorite shorts and flip flops, chilling with the firm**, and having a lazy afternoon made me really nostalgic for last summer and made me look forward to this one so much more.

Shannon, Woody, Kay, & Jeff came over after I'd been drinking for a few hours and we had an amazing night of sushi, great conversation, some beer, and some board games. My new living room setup makes it much easier to have people over, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I don't have people over much, which is not like me.

This sounds more like a ramble than a single thing that made me happy, but that's because the single thing that made me happy was Saturday. The whole day was filled with awesome. In a nutshell, I hung out with like 60% of my favorite people in one day, made a new friend, got a new living room, enjoyed the sunshine, played board games with the azns, and ate at my two favorite restaurants in one day. My day was filled with exceptional win.

* Society of Automotive Engineers. This is the group Joe is building a baja racing car with.
** "The firm" is the name for my group of neighborhood friends and myself. We are called so because one night we started a gang, but due to lack of gang-related activities, we were later downgraded to a firm.
